On monday, shortly before midnight, officers of the coburg police station noticed a scooter driving at about 70 km/h. When the officers were behind the scooter rider in their patrol car and tried to stop him with blue lights and the stop signal on, the scooter rider tried to escape.
Drugs instead of a driver's license
When the driver turned into the hedge path, he lost control of his scooter on a gravel stump there and crashed. At fub the young man fled, but a few meters later he was caught up and stopped by an officer. When questioned, the 25-year-old immediately stated that he did not have a valid driver's license and had recently consumed crystal.
Drug testing and blood collection
The subsequent drug test was positive and a blood sample was taken at the coburg hospital as a consequence. In addition to the driver, the 21-year-old owner of the scooter is also facing charges because he gave the vehicle to his friend even though he knew he did not have a driver's license.
