The concert trip of the male choir "eintracht reuth led the members and friends for three days in the eifel and the rhineland. With the opportunity to sing in the cologne cathedral and to be able to provide music for a church service or a devotion, joseph schiefer inspired his fellow singers for this trip, which he also organized himself.
The visit of the "lava-dome" was from the german volcano museum in mendig in the eifel a first high point. There you could not only learn about the formation of volcanoes, but also about the work of the "layer", who, until the middle of the last century, were still using muscle power to hammer out basalt blocks for millstones from under a layer of pumice and ash up to 20 meters thick. After a tour of the city around the cologne cathedral, the singers from reuth were drawn back out to the 321-meter-high drachenfels near konigswinter. There they enjoyed the view of the siebengebirge and the rhine valley – the right atmosphere for the singers to sing songs of the rhine and of wine at a concert in the square. The musical highlight of the trip was the performance in the koln cathedral, where the mannerchor reuth was able to provide music for the midday service and to experience the extraordinary acoustics. Acoustics in which the worshippers always sing in canon, because the people in the back rows always start a little later than the people in the front rows. At least that is how it was told during the subsequent guided tour of the cathedral.
Reuth choir festival on 17. June
For the participants of the trip and for all those who could not take part in this trip, the mannerchor eintracht reuth organizes a concert on sunday, 17. June, the fourth reuth choir festival in the courtyard of the elementary school reuth. The early morning pint will be musically accompanied by the brass band of the spielmannszug jahn forchheim. In the afternoon, the singers of the singing clubs of mittelehrenbach and kersbach as well as the reuth singers will contribute to the entertainment with song performances.
